Australia’s first ever, funded, National Men’s Health Strategy was recently launched - allocating more that $19 million over the next decade to improve the health and well being of every Australian man and boy. Thinking about how this strategy and funding can best serve our boys and men, international photographer, Leisa Hartnett and her high performance leadership husband, Rob Hartnett sacrificed their special mother’s day morning to come and talk about what it’s felt like, raising three stellar men. Dispelling the stereotypical myth of snips, snails & puppy dog tails – we discussed why sugar and spice are also lovely masculine attributes. Big kids themselves, Rob and Leisa also sharede what it’s felt like being partners, parents, son & daughter. T #menshealth #boyshealth #malesuicide #mothersday #suicideprevention #mentalhealth

Recognising that approximately 20% of Australia’s population is made up of dads, I got together with Jeremy Macvean (Movember) back on 14 April, and we talked about his latest global initiative, The Father Hood. Along with co-conspirators, Luke Benedictus and Andrew McCutcheon, they stepped up and created something, very different and super engaging, to better support this huge community of guys and their families..The Father Hood, is a new media platform and community, designed to help dads survive and thrive. It’s a lifestyle resource that delivers support, inspiration and daily laughs to dads, through content and events. The brand encourages fathers to navigate with less stress and more confidence, using language and approach to help dismantle the negative stereotype of ‘dad’. Redefining the modern experience, where men are raising kids in all kinds of environments.Jeremy and his team believe that becoming a father is the greatest opportunity a man can get - they also get that fatherhood changes you. fatherhood changes everything. I loved hearing what it feels like, being Jeremy and all about The Father Hood,

The Silent Generation includes people who were born between 1925 and 1945 - typically very quiet, hard workers. There was not a skerrick of silence when it came to super special guest, Ken Lyons back on Sunday 10 March when I spoke with him live at 94.1FM. He became a very hard working pharmacist, betwixt many, more theatrical occupations and we became all noisy about what it's felt like being Ken for almost 95 years - recognising the important and often unsung role of pharmacists within our community. We are also heard from Gen Z recording artist Will Hearn, debuting his brand new song called "Wild Brother" - he's worked harder than the silent generation, for almost 3 years, figuring out how to get his featured track finished!

It was big, warm hugs back on Sunday 10 February when I caught up with the worlds greatest metaphoric cuddler, Lance Picioane, CEO and founder of Love Me Love You foundation. He had his arms wide open to embrace a whole bunch of my questions about what it feels like, being him! Lance played AFL for 8 years, experiencing what he thought was a dream career, but behind closed doors, lived with pretty serious mental health challenges. These days Lance connects with the community, through his non-profit organisation, Love Me Love You - striving to empower and build personal resilience - helping challenge the cruel stigma, often connected mental health issues.

In 1979 Rob Gell's “Four Day Forecast” revolutionised the way television weather was presented. For 31 years, he brought authority, information and credibility to TV news - introducing pretty cool things, like satellite image sequences, integrated pressure analyses and pretty much, helped viewers make sense of it all. I caught up with Rob recently - sparking a “university education” styled conversation - endorsing that Rob Gell, truly is, an amazingly informed spokesperson on environmental and media issues. He links strongly with the scientific and conservation communities, giving a convincing and compelling insight into the thinking and philosophies around these intricate issues. Now heading Rethink Sustainability, Rob and his team are passionate about helping organisations thoughtfully and knowledgeably transition to environmentally sustainable operations that, in turn support the well being of their people. The hospitality industry cops a lot of flak for being detri(mental) to the health of its workers. In 2014, international, award winning chef and founder of Food for Thought charity dinner, Mal Meiers, used his own experiences, an insatiable desire for change and influencing skills comparable to Oprah, to do something about it. Food for Thought was created to help raise awareness about mental health challenge in the hospitality industry and to support people in managing better. Four years ago, Mal started with a single dinner in Melbourne and recently sold out more events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane – inspiring life saving conversations amongst thousands of industry leaders, workers, their families and friends. The generosity of the industry has meant that everything for each event is donated, including top notch venues, chefs, food and wine. Hear what it feels like being Mal Meiers right here.
