Around 35 years ago, Peter Baker set himself a path of exploring the relatively unchartered world of men and boy’s health in the UK. A true trailblazer, he’s contributed to many great outcomes, over the years, including the introduction of HPV vaccination for UK boys in 2018.Fast forward to now and he is one of the founders and Director of Global Action on Men’s Health that launched 10 years ago, with a clear purpose of creating a world where all men and boys have an opportunity to achieve their best possible health and wellbeing wherever they live and whatever their background. GAMH works to encourage the @who and other international agencies involved in public health to develop research, policies and strategies on men’s health. What does it feel like, being you, today? rae@raebonney.au#menshealth #menshealthpolicy #genderneutralvaccination #mensmentalhealth #healthpolicy #publichealth #menshealthresearch #menshealthstrategy #malesuicide #mentalhealth #whatdoesitfeellikebeingyoutoday

“A true vocation calls us out beyond ourselves; breaks our heart in the process and then humbles, simplifies and enlightens us about the hidden, core nature of the work that enticed us in the first place.” David Whyte – PoetThis quote came to mind, as I waded through my research, in preparation for my interview with Australian actress, writer and producer, Maria Angelico. It so beautifully illustrates her unwavering commitment to persistently crafting and perfecting a true calling. This is reinforced with her unmistakable presence on our television screens, for more than 20 years - from pumped up pigtails in Chris Lilley's gob-smacking creations, through to the current comedic gal drama, "Strife" where she stars alongside the likes of Asher Keddie, Matt Day, Tina Bursill, Emma Lung, Rhys Mitchell and so many more talented Aussies.Late last year, I had the pleasure of experiencing many facets of Maria, on a real live film set. Aside from enormous talent and professionalism, her abundant kindness, care, humility and generosity, clearly makes all the spaces around her a place of joy and wellbeing. What does it feel like, being you, today?rae@raebonney.au#entertainmentindustry #actors #producers #writers #creativearts #filmandtv #televisionproduction #mentalhealth #wellbeing #kindness #care #humility

Late last year I tuned into Andrew Huberman's Huberman Lab Podcast for one of the best 12 hours and 40 minutes of learning I’ve experienced in a long time.Dr. Paul M. Conti, a Stanford and Harvard trained psychiatrist has empowered the lives of many people around the globe, including Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Tommy Hilfiger!Supported by legendary Huberman hosting, Paul presented the human condition, through sense making dialogue and mind blowing models, that had me listening to the 4 part series over and over again. In the spirit of true gratitude, I connected with Dr. Paul, thanking him for providing ways of showing my own clients a clearer perspective of self and also cheekily requested a radio interview.Astounded by his generosity and quietly @#$%$#% myself for perhaps getting in over my head, Paul did not hesitate in accepting and we connected Portland, Oregon with Melbourne, Australia in early February 2024.What does it feel like, being you, today?www.rae@raebonney.au#neuroscience #MentalHealth #gratitude #agency #humancondition #generationaldrive #purpose #trauma #intergenerationaltrauma #unconsciousmind #consciousmind

Mike Rolls with Rae Bonney

Mike Rolls is a survivor of one of the deadliest diseases on the planet - meningococcal. One day in 2001, this sport-mad teenager headed off on a football trip and then overnight, was fighting for his life, with only a five percent chance of living. When he regained consciousness, Mike had lost his right leg, half his left foot, two fingers and part of his nose, along with extensive internal injuries. From here, Mike went on to tackle recovery with what the world now knows as an inherent spirit of resilience and steadfast tenacity. This characteristic has coloured in so many other spaces that has made Mike an icon of admiration and inspiration for what he is, rather than the turn of events that challenged him.A proud husband and father, fitness enthusiast, Australian golf champion and passionate advocate, Mike uses his voice to engage all communities, whilst supporting charities Limbs 4 Life and Interplast Australia & New Zealand. And that’s just the short of it. According to evolutionary psychology, human beings are motivated to engage in behaviours that maximize their genetic fitness. One could also say that every decision we make is guided by some form of motivation. In more recent times, research tells us that boredom, stress, burnout, feeling overwhelmed, and a lack of clear goals can lead to a lack of motivation.Felix Blackler, however, became so motivated by motivation that he bought the only scientific tool that measures motivation, to Australia. Founder of leading HR consultancy Xperience, Felix launched the The Reiss Motivation Profile® almost three years ago has a lot to say about its positive impact on people packed places here. He joined me on air for a couple of hours, describing what inspired him into the space of motivation and of course, what it feels like, being him … plus so much more.

9 MEN DIE FROM PROSTATE CANCER EVERY DAY, here in Australia .......and there are more than 200,000 living with the diagnosis.CEO of Australian Prostate Cancer Research Centre, Mark Harrison has been leading their charge for the past 9 years and knows, only too well, the challenges in gaining support and recognition for this oftentimes, preventable, MALE EXCLUSIVE disease. The Australian Prostate Centre was established in 2012, initially as a research facility, dedicated to advancing research into treatment and a cure for prostate cancer. In 2014, they opened the doors of the APC clinic and have since treated over 18,000 men, without any Australian Government funding - relying on a small number of dedicated philanthropic supporters and partners to drive the cause. It’s undeniable that the APC’s work is significant and could contribute to so many more lifesaving outcomes, with proper support, validation, investment and recognition from our country’s leaders.Mark’s joined me at the 3WBC studios, to paint a clearer picture around the myths, facts and possibilities relating to prostate cancer here in Australia and around the world. He also spoke about the upcoming activities relating to RULE Prostate Cancer, which was established by the Australian Prostate Centre and the E.J. Whitten Foundation. They joined forces back in 2021 to protect more Aussie Legends in the fight against prostate cancer. https://www.ruleprostatecancer.org.au/https://www.australianprostatecentre.org.au/#prostatecancer #menshealth #funding #policy #malesuicide #governmentfunding #mensmentalhealth #erectiledysfunction #incontinence #masculinity Kate Hatton Travis Strong

Those who know my work, will be familiar with the sentiment "Be kind, be caring and don't be a @*!#$ - it could be lifesaving" 😍.In April 2023 I was feeling pretty jazzed, speaking with Josh Reid Jones live, on air at 94.1FM 3WBC. He's a truly remarkable human who's dedicated a life to helping people into just being nice 🥰. A social impact dynamo, Josh's early life was marked by poverty, violence, and challenging circumstances which, in time, inspired his creation of the The Just Be Nice Project, which, very simply, aims to change the way people help people 👩‍❤️‍👨.Josh didn't hold back telling about social impact, positive change, equality of opportunity and of course, what if feels like, being Josh Reid Jones. What does it feel like, being you, today?#socialimpact #justbenice #equalityofopportunity #positivechange #socialenterprise #notforprofit #makingchange #helpingothers #mentalhealth #homelessness #socialdisadvantage
